Reverend B. Kennedy is an ordained Itinerant Elder in the African Methodist Episcopal Church and has served the local church for over 15 years. She holds degrees from Tennessee State University, Drew University and Union Theological Seminary in New York. Although Rev. Kennedy is AME her giftings and talents have caused her to be widely welcomed by many denominations and church communities. For more than 10 years Rev. Kennedy served St. James African Methodist Episcopal Church in Newark, NJ. She served 7 of those years under the seasoned and profound leadership of Dr. William D. Watley as the Director of the Ministries of Hope and Healing which oversaw several pastoral care ministries-GriefShare™, Divorce Care, Tamar and the Encouragement Ministries.

Rev. Kennedy is an extremely talented, creative and dedicated individual whose gifts are boundless and are powerfully exhibited through her work as a poet, songwriter, graphic designer, and expert in most software technology. As an employee of St. James, Rev. Kennedy developed the DOT.COM ministry, and implemented the live streaming module, which was viewed, at it's peek by nearly 800 people on more than 6 continents weekly. She, also, is credited with developing a fully functional website where visitors could go to download sermons, purchase CDs, DVDs and books. The website was also one of the first church websites to take utilize the following components: online giving, event registration and funeral notices. Rev. Kennedy is credited with single handily catapulting St. James AME into the 21st century by establishing a strong online presence and developing partnerships with companies such as Elexio and the Church Online. Her work with Elexio was so much appreciated that in 2012 a member of company jokingly made her an honorary employee for a day.

In addition to serving as the DOT.COM director, Rev. Kennedy also served as the assistant to the CFO while at St. James. During her time as the assistant, she assisted in streamlining the accounting process as well as developed and implemented a plan that saved the church nearly $50,000 in spending yearly.

Rev. Kennedy was also instrumental in assisting with the planting of St. James 2nd location which originally gathered inside a theater. She created and oversaw the Tech Team which was responsible for the all visual aspects of worship which primarily consisted of bringing worship alive via the "big screen."
