I work at Future Radio as a DJ and producer, on the weekly Skid Row show, playing a huge range of underground hip-hop and soul. I'm on Twitter, here
You can find my show on Mixcloud here, or listen to it live on Thursday nights from 12 till 2pm (107.8 FM in Norwich or online here). I also work in the studio at Future with artists on the Iceni 5 record label, recording and mixing new material.
You can hear some of my music on SoundCloud here.
I wrote my first lyric when I was 16, inspired by the music of UK artists like Rodney P, Roots Manuva, Jehst, Lewis Parker, Phi Life Cypher and Task Force, as well as US artists like Wu Tang, KRS-ONE and Eminem. But I know hip-hop is a craft, and so it's taken me until the last couple of years till I finally felt ready to unleash my music on the public.
My vision as an artist is always evolving, but I'm really interested in writing lyrics that reflect what life is really like in Norfolk, and song which have the power to reach people from all different walks of life. If they're good enough to inspire anyone, or transport them from their lives (whether good or bad) – even for five minutes, I'm happy. I also like the idea of perplexing the listener, lyrics which demand a second look or make you do a double-take.
Musically, you could accuse me of being a little bit trapped in the 90s (but I don't mind!) – I like soulful, party breaks as well as the deep, moody stuff. Honestly, there's not much in hip hop I don't like. Except for fakery and wackness.
But if you want to commission me to write some lyrics, work in your studio or just fancy working together, email me on.
