Texas-based professional Donald Lee “Don” Pferdehirt serves as the vice president of PUR manufacturing for Covestro, LLC. He has more than 30 years of engineering and management experience, and spent much of his career with Bayer Corporation. Capable of researching options, making firm decisions, and analyzing situations, Don Pferdehirt of Spring, TX, has proven his ability to lead through such positions as process engineer, area manager, and head of global technical support for operations.

Throughout his tenure with Bayer Corporation, Donald Lee Pferdehirt earned 10 Quality Excellence Awards and was a finalist for the President’s Achievement Gold Award three times. The Spring, TX, resident also lowered the rate of environmental and safety incidents by 75 percent and streamlined communication between units through the implementation of the Reorganization Project. Over the course of two years, he increased production capacity in the area by 40 percent and reduced manufacturing costs by 15 percent; this reduction resulted in over $15 million in savings a year.

Don Pferdehirt earned a bachelor’s degree and master’s degree in chemical engineering from Pennsylvania State University. He subsequently earned an MBA from the University of Houston. An active member in the field, he has given a presentation on energy efficiency to ACC in New Orleans, contributed an article to the June 2013 issue of Chemical Processing, and obtained a patent.
