Dotti J

Dotti J was born in Palm Beach, Florida. She enrolled at Jill's Dance Center at the age of 3 and has been in the world of entertainment since. At the age of 9 she danced on MTV for the music video "Fire It Up", followed by a state tour of young dancers performing from Jill's Dance Center. By 15 years of age, she was cast to tour with the boy band LFO, who was signed to Transcontinental Entertainment. While attending the University of Central Florida, Dotti J was part of the Top 5 National Competitive College Dance Team and there she began focusing on her career as a choreographer and dance instructor. She soon began working with a local R&B artist Shawn Mitchell and landed the job as choreographer and dancer for the opening act of Mr. Cheeks and R&B sensation 112 at the Hard Rock Live in Orlando, Fl. By the age of 20, Dotti J was in Los Angeles and working with top choreographers such as Shane Sparks, who was one of the choreographers on the number 1 movie "You Got Served", Dante, Super Dave, Keith "Brim" Junior and many more. After months in L.A., she returned to Orlando to finish college and began teaching dance classes at many local dance schools. While in college, she became a popular dancer and choreographer for top artists and record labels out of Orlando such as Dark Child Entertainment and Transcontinental Entertainment. By working so closely with top artist and producers such as Rodney Jerkins, who has produced hits with Brandy, Ray Jay, Britney Spears, Beyonce, Destiny’s Child and many more, Dotti J began to feed her passion for music. At that time, she began to write lyrics and record background vocals for bands and artists while always working toward her main goal of making her own music one day. Currently, Dotti J has written over 28 songs and is now prepared to release her EP on the world. She inspires to change music and bring dance back to the days when people watched artists because of their amazing show, talent, lyrics, and all around ability to perform. She continues to strive to be the best she can be in her own right and break barriers of old stereotypes and molds people have placed. Dotti J is new, refreshing and a wonderful creative artist who is talented far beyond a first glance. The more you can experience her, the more talent you find she has. She is the epitome of an ‘iconic’ artist.
