Erica Burnell

My name is Erica Burnell and I started beading in 2005 as a way to relax and create positive energy. I primarily made pieces for my family and friends until about five years ago, when a friend asked me to ‘fix’ a pair of earrings. This led me to ‘re-create’ some of her already made pieces, making them á la mode once again. It was exciting to pull the pieces apart and completely rework the designs. Often I would start with a necklace and end up with more pieces by simply adding in different beading elements. As a result, I started attending classes at some of the local bead shops and area bead shows in order to acquire knowledge and ideas. Through these pursuits I have found that I really enjoy working with Sterling (Argentium) Silver wire and have just started incorporating more handmade clasps, bails and wrapped stones into my designs. The feeling I get when creating something either with a 'pattern' from a class I have taken, modifying something for a friend or just following my own creative whim is fantastique! I have since found that not only do I find beading to be very therapeutic and rewarding for me, but my daughter loves to help and is anxiously waiting the day I will give her her own wire and the freedom to create her own masterpieces!! Needless to say, my new-found passion for beading/wire working has become extremely satisfying and above all I find that I love to share my new unique jewelry styles with others. With this in mind, and the unwavering support from my friends and family, I officially launched my business, Dovedale Designs, in 2007. Come visit my website at www.dovedaledesigns.com or my FB Fan Page while I am working on creating an etsy.com site. I hope you enjoy wearing my jewelry as much as I enjoy creating it. Make it a great day to remember! Erica
