Dr. Darlene Lee
Dr. Darlene S. Lee is the former host of New York City's talk show "For Women/About Women." She has interviewed some of the most poignant individuals in today's society such as Tavis Smiley, the late night host of "Tavis Smiley on PBS" and Stanley Crouch, a columnist for the New York Daily News.
Dr. Lee is also the Founder and Co-owner of Darling Communications, a faith based business that seeks to transform the lives of individuals from all walks of life through the facilitation of powerful interactive seminars and inspirational messages. She provides lifestyle coaching and teaches courses in communications and media arts at the university level.
In addition, her journalistic credits include articles published in newspapers, magazines, a book chapter in "Contemporary Legends of Public Relations," and forthcoming books under the Darling Communications umbrella.
Leaps of faith took Dr. Lee from being a noted cosmetologist of 17 years, to employment as a public relations professional, to the highest level of educational pursuits. She holds a Doctorate of Philosophy in Communications Studies from Wayne State University, a Master of Science degree in Communications from Grand Valley State University and a Bachelor of Arts degree in Communications from Grand Valley State University. As a licensed evangelist and a member of Mt. Zion Church of God in Christ (COGIC) located in Grand Rapids, Michigan, she travels speaking to varied audiences.
Her endeavors extend outside of academia. Dr. Lee serves as Co-Chair of the Education Sub-Committee of the South East Michigan Leadership Collaborative for Civil and Human Rights.
She resides in Michigan and governs life by her motto: Be Defined by the way you Live.
