Dr Amit Chakrabarty

A board-certified urologist with more than three decades of experience, Dr. Amit Chakrabarty cares for patients at Popular Bluff Urology in Missouri, where he also serves as the chief executive officer. In addition, he treats people for incontinence and pelvic conditions at the Center for Continence and Female Pelvic Health. Earlier in his career, Dr. Amit Chakrabarty taught at the University of Alabama, Birmingham, as an adjunct faculty member.
Complementing his clinical practice, Dr. Amit Chakrabarty does original medical research and teaches at hospitals throughout the world. He recently conducted live surgical demonstrations at Ramathibodi Hospital in Bangkok and the Hospital Central Militar in Mexico City. Dr. Chakrabarty has also published articles on subjects ranging from pelvic meshes to priapism in such scholarly publications as the European Journal of Obstetrics and Gynecology and the Journal of Urology.
In preparation for his medical career, Dr. Chakrabarty earned an MBBS/MD at MKCG Medical College in Berhampur, India, completed a residency in urology at Wayne State University, and conducted his surgical fellowship at the Royal College of Surgeons in Edinburgh, Scotland.
