Dr. Cecilia graduated from Universiti Putra Malaysia Faculty of Veterinary Medicine in 2006. After graduation she practiced Wildlife Medicine in Sepilok Orangutan Rehabilitation Center in Sabah for 4 years where she was featured in several documentaries including National Geographic’s Among the Great Apes with Michelle Yeoh and "Bite Me" with Dr. Mike Leahy and several other documentaries produced in France, Australia, Japan and United Kingdom.

She then decided to expand her professional development in small animal medicine in 2010 and worked for over 3 years in Mount Pleasant Veterinary Center; a renowned animal reference hospital in Singapore.

Following this, she decided to become a lecturer teaching Diploma of Veterinary Bioscience at Ngee Ann Polytechnic, Singapore where she taught four modules: Animal Welfare, Behaviour & Handling, Wildlife Conservation & Biodiversity, Animal Developmental Biology & Genetics, and Clinical Diagnostics, Surgical & Veterinary Practices, as well as two practicals: Microbiology and Immunology.

During this lectureship, she attended several extension courses and conferences with regards to responsible care of animals, small animal internal medicine, laboratory and other veterinary aspects.
