Dr. David Jacob
Urology specialist Dr. David Jacob practices at three offices in Palm Harbor, New Port Richey, and Tampa, Florida. Board-certified by the American Board of Urology since 1988, Dr. David Jacob possesses active affiliations with numerous medical centers, including Helen Ellis Memorial Hospital, Morton Plant Mease Hospitals, Medical Center of Trinity, Community Hospital, and Morton Plant North Bay. Involved in the medical community, Dr. David Jacob belongs to the American College of Surgeons, the American Urological Association, the American Association of Clinical Urologists, and several other organizations. He contributes to medical research and has had his case studies published. Dr. David Jacob wrote “Phase II Study and Efficacy: ‘Treatment and Prevention of Progression of Benign Prostatic Hyperplasia’” and “Phase III Study U.R.G.E.: Urogenital investigation with estrace cream.” Demonstrating extensive experience in general medicine, surgery, and urology, he was appointed Chief of Staff at Helen Ellis Memorial Hospital from 2001 to 2004. Prior to the position, he had served as Chief of Surgery at Helen Ellis Memorial Hospital and at Palms West Hospital. He graduated from Heidelberg University in Tiffin, Ohio, with a Bachelor of Science in Biology. Following his undergraduate education, Dr. David Jacob pursued further professional and academic endeavors at the University of Missouri where he gained his Master’s degree in Biology and biochemistry research experience. Dr. David Jacob attended the Université Libre de Bruxelles Faculté de Médecine in Belgium to earn his Doctor of Medicine in 1979. He returned to the United States and moved to St. Louis to complete several residencies in general surgery and urology. Concentrating on the field of urology, which focuses on the urinary tracts of males and females and on the male reproductive system, Dr. David Jacob established a Florida practice.
