Having selected oral and maxillofacial surgery (OMFS) as his dental specialty, Dr. George Hatzigiannis has lectured extensively on related topics, including nonsurgical and minimally invasive surgical treatment of TMD, and managing the medically complex patient. Dr. George Hatzigiannis has also been involved with a great deal of related research, encompassing, for example, a study involving the adhesive strength of periosteal grafts to articular cartilage using fibrin and dedifferentiation of odontogenic keratocyst epithelia.

A cum laude alumnus of Harvard College, Dr. Hatzigiannis consistently made the dean’s list. He continued his education at the Harvard School of Dental Medicine, where he earned an AADR Student Research Fellowship and the Equilibrium Society Award. He also holds an MD from the University of Connecticut, where he completed his postgraduate training in general surgery and OMFS.

Dr. Hatzigiannis operated a private oral surgery practice in Massachusetts for four years and spent a year caring for the underserved with Small Smile Dental Centers.
