Dr Jay Capunitan

Certified by the Educational Commission for Foreign Medical Graduates, Dr. Jay Capunitan possesses expertise in Internal Medicine and Infectious Diseases. Prior to becoming a primary care physician, Dr. Jay Capunitan completed a residency training in Internal Medicine at the University of Connecticut Health Center in Farmington as well as a fellowship training in Infectious Disease at the University Hospital in Newark, New Jersey.

Dr. Capunitan holds an MD degree from the University of Santo Tomas in Manila, Philippines, from which he also graduated with a nursing degree. He has presented numerous research abstracts on topics such as plasma cell dyscrasias in HIV, fungal infections and antifungal therapy, and staphylococcal toxic shock syndrome. Jay Capunitan, MD, is also a published author, who has written on topics related to infective endocarditis, Takayasu's arteritis in pregnancy and echocardiography in post-resuscitation. He currently holds memberships with the Infectious Diseases Society of America, American College of Physician and the American Medical Association.
