Michael Smith
Hello. I am the perverbial Renaissance man. I am educated, traveled, and love interaction with people of all races, people groups, languages, and ethnicities. You should know that i am an adjunct professor who would love to have a full-time teaching gig. My MA in History is from Clemson University. One of the interesting things about me is that I never quit. Back in 1975 I began my freshman year at Clemson University with a major in Psychology and a minor in Philosophy and Religion. In my senior year I left Clemson because of home issues and ended up pursing degrees in Theology and Christian Education (six in all). After teaching in a Christian high school, spending 5 summers in the Philippines, pastoring two churches, and a number of other things, I ended up working in Corporate Communications at the BMW factory here in my hometown. After ten years I was miserable. When I left BMW people thought I was nuts. I walked away from lots of money and benefits but did not like the place nor the people. I decided to go back to Clemson and fulfill the goal I left 30 years before. In 2008 I completed the BA in Psychology from my past. In 2010 I completed my MA in History. I am now a PhD student at Liberty University in Theology and Apologetics. I do this in addition to teaching. This past semester I taught six classes at Anderson University and TriCounty Technical College. I love teaching and this is my first love. I like challenging young people to be all they can be. I addition I own three businesses and a non-profit. I operate a kitchen design business (www.designsbymichael.net); a web design business (propcworx.com) and a life coaching business (yourlifecoachinternational.com). My nonprofit, Faith For These Times, helps with medical missions and feeding programs in other countries.
