Wisconsin resident, Dr. Ramesh Sachdeva is the associate executive director for the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP), where he oversees the implementation of strategies for Maintainence of Certification as part of the educational requirements and quality improvement in practice for pediatricians. He also performs clinical instruction at the Medical College of Wisconsin as a professor of pediatrics. Dr. Ramesh Sachdeva has an expansive background involving pediatric care and research.

Before his position at AAP, Dr. Sachdeva was corporate vice president and chief quality officer for the Children’s Hospital and Health System. He reported directly to the corporation’s president and led the development of strategies intended to enhance system quality. Among his contributions were increasing immunization rates for children and creating a monitoring system that improved hospital safety. Earlier in his career, he formed the Center for Outcomes Research and Quality Management at the Children’s Hospital of Wisconsin while serving as executive director.

From 1987 to 2009, Dr. Sachdeva did post-graduate clinical training at a number of locations. He became a chief resident at the Wayne-Oakland Child and Adolescent Medicine Program and studied pediatric critical-care medicine as a fellow at the Children’s Hospital of Wisconsin. He also completed training in sleep medicine and became board-certified by the American Board of Pediatrics at the Medical College of Wisconsin.

Dr. Sachdeva has been involved with many educational leadership activities, including supervising the implementation of pediatric research studies for faculty and establishing a new section for reserach support in the Medical College of Wisconsin’s pediatric department.
