Dr. Robert Kohn

A psychiatrist with more than three decades of experience, Dr. Robert Kohn earned his MD from the University of Illinois in Chicago. Following graduation, Dr. Robert Kohn undertook an internal medicine internship at Roger Williams General Hospital at Brown University, as well as a psychiatry residency at the Brown University Department of Psychiatry and Human Behavior. He also completed a fellowship with the Psychiatric Epidemiology Training Program at Columbia University in 1992.
Robert Kohn, MD, has focused his clinical practice on geriatric psychiatry. His services include treating adults with developmental and intellectual disabilities. Among his many accomplishments, he established the geriatric psychiatry fellowship at the Warren Alpert Medical School of Brown University, while serving as a professor of psychiatry and human behavior. He is also currently engaged in several ongoing projects as a consultant for the World Health Organization/Pan American Health Organization.
Throughout his career, Dr. Kohn has received multiple distinctions and awards. He recently received the 2019 American Psychiatric Association Guttmacher Award. He has also received two teaching awards in geriatric psychiatry and holds the title of a Distinguished Fellow with the American Psychiatric Association.
