Soloman Shah, MD, has cared for patients at Gastrointestinal Medicine Associates of Reston, Virginia, since 1999. During that time, he has provided treatment for conditions ranging from irritable bowel syndrome (IBS) and gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD) to hemorrhoidal disease and gastrointestinal complications of pregnancy. Soloman Shah, MD, comes to his role with an in-depth knowledge of gastrointestinal diagnostic and treatment procedures, including gastroscopy and endoscopy as well as polypectomy, esophageal stenting, and percutaneous endoscopic gastrostomy (PEG).
Board certified in internal medicine and gastroenterology, Dr. Soloman Shah earned his doctor of medicine from Eastern Virginia Medical School. He then went on to an internship and residency at the University of Maryland School of Medicine, where he also completed his fellowship in gastroenterology. Dr. Shah has remained involved in medical education as an assistant instructor of physical diagnosis and has contributed to a number of publications, including a piece submitted to Gastrointestinal Endoscopy on endoscopic hemoclip replacement as a treatment of Dieulafoy's lesion. Dr. Shah has also collaborated with Drs. Bruce Greenwald and Robert Schreiber on the Hemoprompt Project, which has the mission of developing a new hemoccult screening card.
