Dr. William Boxer

As Director of Internal Medicine and Osteoporosis at the Joint Pain Center of New York, Dr. William Boxer offers the highest quality of medical care to all patients, including those with arthritis. Joining Dr. Jay Adlersberg at the Joint Pain Center in 2000, Dr. Boxer became a full partner in 2001. Beyond his work in internal medicine and primary care, Dr. Boxer places a special emphasis on osteoporosis, joint injections, infusion medicine, diabetes, and smoking cessation. In addition to his practice at the Joint Pain Center of New York, Dr. William Boxer serves as an Attending Physician at Lenox Hill Hospital and Beth Israel Hospital. At Lenox Hill Hospital, he educates medical students and interns as a Clinical Instructor in Medicine. Before coming to New York City, Dr. William Boxer completed his internship and residency in internal medicine at the prestigious Boston Medical Center, where he distinguished himself by scoring in the top 15% of all residents on the Internal Medicine In-Training Examination. While in Boston, he received rigorous clinical training at the internationally recognized Boston City Hospital, where he accumulated invaluable firsthand medical experience. Dr. Boxer attended Lafayette College and SUNY Health Science Center at Syracuse (now SUNY Upstate Medical University), where he earned his M.D. in 1997 and graduated in the top 25% of his class. During his studies in Syracuse, Dr. William Boxer conducted research on the use of innovative serum tests to assess heart muscle damage. The groundbreaking techniques are now considered the universal medical standard for evaluating patients with presumed heart attacks. Currently, Dr. Boxer is a respected member of numerous professional associations, including the American Board of Internal Medicine, American Medical Association, New York County Medical Society, and the New York Metropolitan Bone Society. In 2010, Dr. William Boxer was elected as a Fellow of the American College of Physicians.
