Dr. Arlene Holek

A clinician who wields training in ophthalmology, Dr. Arlene Holek manages a private practice based in Hamilton, Ontario. Her clinical research has garnered recognition from peers in the medical field and has been published in such periodicals as the Canadian Journal of Ophthalmology. Dr. Arlene Holek's patients also commend her care. In 2011, the Province of Ontario conducted a random sample of her diabetic care patients. The results showed that 100 percent of patients met the government's eye care goals.

Dr. Arlene Holek attended the University of Western Ontario and earned her M.D., graduating cum laude. She spends much of her time consulting with patients on the various conditions and disorders of the eye such as myopia, or nearsightedness, which affects roughly 2.3 billion individuals around the globe. Other patients suffer from astigmatism, a condition that impacts near and far sight.

Outside of her work in the medical field, Dr. Arlene Holek holds numerous extracurricular interests. In 2008 and 2011, she competed in the Canadian Adult Figure Skating Championships and is now giving back to the sport by judging.
