Gilles Berger

My name is Dr Gilles Berger. I am a French teacher, small business owner, and public speaker currently living in Upper Crystal Creek NSW, Australia. My interests range from music to yoga. I am also interested in gardening, skiing, and education. I have a long experience as a teacher of French in France and in Australia. I graduated in 2015 with a PhD in Applied Linguistics from the university of Besançon (France), specialised in E-learning, blended and hybrid language learning.

I started my career teaching Judicial French in the famous CLA of Besançon (France) as I had studied law and graduated in 1981 with a law degree from the university of Besançon and then I taught in Sydney University for 3 years. From 1991 to 2000, I taught in Sydney Grammar School and gained a strong experience as a school teacher. Since 2000 I managed with my wife Zarina the Maison de Ste Claire, centre to learn French language and culture in Upper Crystal Creek in the north of New South Wales in Australia. I must say that managing and teaching at la Maison de Ste Claire has been the best experience in my life as I have ample time to connect with my creativity which is the essence of teaching and learning. I created more than 500 videos and few thousands audio files for our online program. This allows us to target specific needs with our students and to offer them accelerated learning. This is a very powerful approach to learn French.
