Mr. Zakir Hossain awarded his Master’s degree in Information Science and Library Management from the University of Dhaka with first class-first position,Certificate courses on Copyright (edx) from Harvard Law School, Digital and Online Librarianship from North South University Bangladesh and e-Learning Management from the University of Philippines Open University. He is a Google certified internet search expert. Currently he is performing his job as a Teacher at Singapore International School-Vietnam. Prior to Singapore International School, Mr. Zakir worked as a Manager of Library and Information Center at SEAMEO Regional Training Center – Vietnam, assistant Library Officer & Library Officer at the University of Liberal Arts Bangladesh and State University of Bangladesh respectively. Mr. Zakir's research interests are library and lifelong learning/learning society; intellectual property law, open educational resources (OER); NGOs and Non-profit organizations’ involvement with libraries, Social Media for library outreach. His awards and grants include, the prestigious Anthony Thompson Award- 2013; IFLA World Library and Information Congress 2013-Grant for ASEAN Delegates; GIZ scholarship for e-learning management-2012 etc. Besides editorial member of a library science journal, Mr. Zakir is also a life member of Library Association of Bangladesh and an honorary member of National Library of Indonesia. He is a progressive thinker and results-oriented-person, who wanted to effect change and development of libraries as a lifelong undertaking.
