Dudley is a large industrialised market town and administrative centre in the county of West Midlands, England, 9.7 kilometres (6.0 mi) south-east of Wolverhampton and 16.9 kilometres (10.5 mi) north-west of Birmingham. Historically an exclave of Worcestershire, the town is the administrative centre of the Metropolitan Borough of Dudley and in 2011 had a population of 79,379. The Metropolitan Borough, which includes the towns of Stourbridge and Halesowen, had a population of 312,900. Dudley is the capital of the Black Country.

It is situated in the focal point of the Black Country, 10 miles west of Birmingham. The historical centre possesses 105,000 square meters of previous modern land incompletely recovered from a previous railroad merchandise yard, neglected lime ovens, trench arm and previous coal pits. The historical center opened to the general population in 1978, and has since added more than 50 shops, houses and other modern structures from around the Metropolitan Boroughs of Dudley, Sandwell and Walsall and the City of Wolverhampton; mostly in a uniquely fabricated town.
