Dutch40 Blackout
Newark, New Jersey
Born in Newark, NJ as Enver Hayward, his fate was handed to him even before he left the hospital. He is named after Enver Hoxha, the former President of Albania who had given the Albanian people freedom and national dignity, brought his people from the darkness of feudalism, had given his people an ideal for which it was worthy to fight, to sacrifice oneself, to live for, and who gave the Marxist-Leninist movement the clarity of the development of the class struggle.
Enver’s father was a Black Belt Taekwondo competitor and instructor and his mother was a poet, playwright, and high school biology teacher. After his parents divorced, Enver became very involved with the choir and performed in plays, even doing standup comedy later in life. After his mother passed away in 2001, Enver lost himself – then was reborn.
He embraced his roots, reflected on all the free love-rebel lessons he had been taught, and created his own genre of music. Dutch40 has a Malcolm X mindset, and his music is best described as multifaceted revolutionary rap or rebel funk with a touch of blues music from the soul. His music promotes social awareness that taps into our most inner fears and feelings.
He always went by Dutch40, but now, it meant something. DUTCH stands for: Discovered Understanding through Chaos & Havoc. The number 40 is referenced 146 times in Scripture, generally symbolizes a period of testing, trial or probation, and represents a generation of man. The Bible was written by forty different people. Those called of God are under probation, or judgment, based on how they live by every word of God.
Dutch’s music reflects this, even in his album titles. Rebelations 3-22 Death of a Saint, Birth of a Rebel; The Hand of God Words and a Bullet; and The Rebel King Rebels Funk Reality are the most notable. Dutch 40 Blackout is down with The K.G.B. and Fam First Music Group (FFMG).
