One would be hard-pressed to find a leader who does things with a level of strength and conviction that easily translates to that of his members in the same way that Raymond can. Under his leadership as Chairperson of the UP Circle of Industrial Engineering Majors (UP CIEM), the organization has served as a catalyst for social change as it launched JUANTED, an event that brought together different engineering organizations to for a cause, in which he was Project Coordinator.

His unmatched presence, however, started long before he became chairperson. From being batch head of the CIEM Applicants 1st Sem 09-10, he immediately established himself as an indispensable member as he became Overall Co-Head for IEshikawa, Logistics Head of the CIEM Advanced Registration Team, Associate Editor of Just in Time, and Head of the CIEM Dulaang Eng'g Team -- all in 2010. It is this dedication that earned him the honor of being the Top 1 CIEMer Awardee in that very same year.

Perhaps what makes Raymond more inspiring is his commitment to excellence not only in his organization but also in academics. He is a consistent University and College Scholar, maintaining a Magna Cum Laude standing.

It is this kind of student-leadership that Raymond brings with him wherever he goes. It is this kind of excellence that inspires people to go beyond what is expected of them and encourage other people to do the same. It is this kind of accoutability that we, the students, deserve from our ESC.

We deserve no less than someone like Raymond for our ESC Councilor.
