Youth Development and Assisted Animal Therapy in Hartford, Connecticut
Founded in 1984 by pioneering cowgirl and National Cowgirl hall of famer & CNN Hero, Patricia E. Kelly, Ebony Horsewomen was initially made up of African-American female equestrians who operated community programs and rode in rodeos like the Bill Pickett Invitational Rodeo and the Black World Championship Rodeo.
Ebony Horsewomen currently operates as a 501(c)(3) Charitable nonprofit youth development organization that employs the use of animal assisted therapy, mentor-ship and educational programs to empower youth toward safe, successful and fulfilling lives.
