In IB prep class we use technology to show International Baccalaureate traits, like enviroments, approches to learning, and human ingenuity. We make videos and other projects.
One of our eariler projects was to make a Rube Goldberg device to knock a ping-pong ball off it's perch. My device worked with me rolling a ball down a small inclined plane. The ball hits a small lever that hits a button an a electric car. The car starts up and then hits the ball.
One other project we made recently was about cyberbullying. We had to make a five minute movie about cyber bullying. It was actually part of a big contest, called the No Bull Challenge. The winner would go to San Francisco. Unfortunateley, our movie was not all that good.
A project we are working on now is to make a multi-page report on famous mathematicians. I am writing on Niels Henrik Abel. He found that there is no formual for quintic functions, or expressions to the fifth power.
We do a lot in IB prep class. We do different kinds of projects, creating a fun enviroment. We use technology to help teach us International Baccalaureete traits. Ib Prep class is great.
