Edward Reicin has passed on the value of obtaining a good education to his three children. All three have earned advanced degrees from Harvard University and have successful careers that reflect the example Edward Reicin set for them as a father, business professional, and philanthropist. Edward Reicin began to build his career and set an example at an early age. As a young adult, he earned a Bachelor of Science in Commerce and Law from the University of Illinois and a Juris Doctor from the University of Illinois College of Law. Edward Reicin used his law degree to found his own 35-attorney law firm with his three business partners. Edward Reicin was Managing Partner of Gordon, Reicin, West, and Rosenbloom for nearly 15 years. During his tenure, Edward Reicin earned the acclaimed Lawyer of the Year award from the Illinois Secretaries Association in 1969. He also published articles about wrongful death laws in the state of Illinois and was a member of the American Bar Association and the Illinois Trial Lawyers Association. Edward Reicin utilized his position in the legal community to found a free legal clinic for the Near North Family Guidance Center and also serve on various volunteer committees. Currently, Edward Reicin applies his business knowledge as a Consultant for two multi-million dollar companies he helped build: athletic equipment manufacturer M. Putterman & Company, Inc. and storage tank producer MPC Containment Systems, Ltd. Edward Reicin recently sold both companies to a private equity firm; however, he continues to work in an advisory capacity and partially owns both corporations. When he is not participating in business ventures, Edward Reicin performs opera professionally, and he has held key roles in a variety of operas like La Traviata and Madame Butterfly. An accomplished vocal bass, Edward Reicin has received hundreds of hours of instruction and coaching in order to increase his singing ability. Edward Reicin’s love for opera extends to charitable contributions, and he donates to several performance-related associations, including the Chicago Opera Theater and Lyric Opera of Chicago.
