A licensed psychologist in the State of California, Dr. Elaine Rosa most recently served as a contracted psychologist at Kern Valley State Prison, where she provided an array of mental health services and conducted routine and emergent suicide risk evaluations. Prior to her contract with the Delano, California-based prison, Dr. Elaine Rosa held similar mental-health-oriented roles with Kern County Mental Health, Mental Health Systems Kern ACTion, and WISE & Healthy Aging.
In those roles, Dr. Rosa regularly provided outpatient services to adults with mental disorders as well as individuals with substance abuse issues and cognitive impairment disorders. Earlier, while completing her degrees, she provided psychotherapy to children with behavioral and emotional disabilities and conducted forensic evaluation services on child victims of sexual abuse.
Supplementing her varied experiences, Dr. Rosa has delivered academic presentations on topics such as elder abuse, inter-generational conflicts among immigrant families, and treating LGBTIQ population in a correctional environment. She holds a PhD in psychology from Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine and is a member of the Los Angeles County Psychological Association. She is also an operations support officer with the California Army National Guard and member of Wounded Warriors.
