When I was a child I wanted to live an exciting life, so I figured my best career option would be to join the circus. I soon realised what I really wanted was freedom... but without the gymnastics and the lion taming.
When I was an adolescent I wanted to be the mistress of an artist. It meant I could be close to the creativity, without being the creativity. I would have an interesting bohemian life... and amazing sex.
My first career involved being a road manager for rock & roll bands. Life on the road was a kind of circus - check. I was close to the creativity without being the creativity - check. But something was missing. My next career was in marketing. I loved the drama of finding solutions to marketing problems. But drama was no substitute for joy.
So I set off to find the missing piece - the conduit to MY creativity. During this journey I discovered a talent for teaching others to gain access to, and claim their own creativity. Because creativity isn't a skill that 'special' people are born with... it's our life force energy. If we're still breathing, it's still there. We just need to wake it up a little, so that we can start to lead the exciting lives that were waiting for us all along.
