Dr. Elizabeth A. Williams
Teacher, Writer, and Public Speaker in Nashville, Tennessee
I believe in the power of healing. Healing for me is an inside job. One that starts with connecting to the power that is within all of us. My gift is to see that power and to call it forth through research, preaching, counseling, writing, teaching and more. Hope, help and healing with a touch of humility are what I am all about.
Born in Mississippi and raised in Illinois and Tennessee, home for me is not a place, but a state of mind. Home is where the heart is. Heart for me equals family, friends, people and the places I am passionate about.
If you cross an anthropologist with an english professor, what do you get? Me, a second generation anthropologist who loves words. Trained at the University of Illinois and the University of Kentucky in applied medical anthropology, I believe in the potential of communities to heal themselves by building on the assets and human resources that exist in places where health challenges exist. An advocate for social justice in health, I use the gifts I have to "make health happen" wherever I am planted.
