Born and raised in Atlanta, Georgia Elizabeth Montgomery began her professional writing career straight out of high school in 2005 as an intern for the Atlanta Voice Newspaper. With the help of her editor-in-chief she began to grow and gain experiences reporting in the Atlanta community.
Elizabeth realized at a young age that journalism and writing were her passions and what she was called to do. She was raised in the newsroom; her seven-time Emmy Award winning father, Les Montgomery, has been a news editor and producer for WSB-TV and CNN for over 35 years collectively. She has been a freelance journalist for many publications in the Atlanta area including: The Atlanta Voice Newspaper, Southern Voice Newspaper, Sheen Magazine, HBCU Digest, Atlanta Tribune Magazine, and I am Jmariie Magazine.
A diligent and knowledge hungry student, Elizabeth majors in English at Clayton State University and has also studied Japanese since 1999, taking college courses in the language as well. When she is not writing a story or conquering a deadline, Elizabeth can be found mastering social media and networking at events around the community. With over 8 years of journalism experience and a passion unlike any other, Elizabeth has her eyes set on the future and ready to make an impact in the world of Journalism.
