Ellen Luzy

I was born in Aachen/Germany 1951. I got my education both in the US and in Europe. First I was sent to Montessori school where the teachers were released from Nazicamp. Then I was student at Viktoriaschool in Aachen. I then was sent to Thaddenschool in Wieblingen near Mannheim, this school also reopened after the Holocaust! The Maerzschool and -Akademy in Stuttgart improved my painting! I went to the AKA for arthistory with Rau! I also visited the FKN at the Neckar with Tuerk. I learned scultpure from Sigurd Maerz. There I learned the art of etching which I renewed with the WSA in 1998. Also to BARD I went with the same art and improved! Photography I learned in Neurtingen from scratch in the dark chamber and the red lamp after first lessons with the famed Tai Luedicke-Marcks in Heidelberg in 1968. Then I went to Jugenheim, a new form of school, an experiment and from there to DeAnza College in Cupertino/Cal. I have shown paintings since 1975 in Europe and the United States. I was married 3 times (Luhn-Kipperman, Luhn-Zehnder,Cartuccio now.) I am mother of one grown child, a son on his own in Hamburg Germany. Since 2006 I am grandmother to a healthy grandson! Streetperformance in Stuttgart, Heidelberg, New York and Woodstock playing Concert Flute, wooden recorder and reciting poetry since 1974.

I have shown my artwork in the WAAM, at Byrdcliffe and various galleries in Woodstock.

Since the 80s I do filmdocumentary I show at times on PATV in Woodstock.

One of my themes is the Circus around Stuttgart, a small family circus like it used to visit New York City in the 50s. About 1000 hours filmfootage gives an example how Gypsies raise their artistic children! One of the circus is the "Bonanza-circus" which once I had searched for with a local police helicopter visible by its beautiful blue tent and went there in my red Opel, a Ford-car to take filmfootage on my vacation! The police is always helpful to filmers! This was before I had a cellphone!
