Emma Christie
I'm a writer.
Right now I'm working on crime novels, but prior to that I was a chief reporter with the Press and Journal, one of the UK's biggest-selling regional daily newspapers. During my five years at the paper I worked on every kind of story – from murders and court cases to politics and celebrity interviews. I also reviewed hotels, restaurants, theatre and gigs.
I've written and performed a show at Edinburgh Fringe Festival, recorded two albums of self-penned songs and, best of all, I'm a two-time winner of Joke of the Week in The Beano.
When I'm not writing, I'm usually on the road.
I spend several months of each year working as tour director for an innovative travel company which offers educational – and I'd say inspirational – journeys across Europe for American high school students. We cook, we dance, we learn. And we laugh.
I've spent a total of five years living between Spain, Mexico, Guatemala and Nicaragua and travelled extensively in the United States and Europe. I also enjoy spending time at home in the United Kingdom.
And finally, I love coffee, especially when served in a glass.
