Erica Toliver

From politics to public relations, Erica is bringing people together for a good cause. Erica grew up in Clinton, Md. and after graduating from American University, stayed in D.C. and now lives in the historic Anacostia area of Southeast Washington, D.C. She is owner to a 5 lb. Yorkshire Terrier named Rocket, who is just as sassy as she.

Her career has spanned from a boutique marketing firm to the media conglomerate Discovery Communications. For a short period of time she served youth as a substitute teacher, where she discovered her passion for connecting people and to put the public back in public relations.

Erica's most recent position was with the D.C. Children and Youth Investment Trust Corporation as the Communications Manager. When she wasn't rubbing elbows with the political elite of D.C. government, she was in the trenches with D.C.’s community-based organizations promoting and raising money for afterschool programs.

Erica is compassionate about her charitable service as she also is a member of the “Feed the Hungry” ministry at her church, First Baptist Church of Glenarden. She has a love for travel and has journeyed from Amsterdam to Aruba, Fort Lauderdale to London, Cancun, Mexico to Cape Town, South Africa. She’s a lover of sports, shopping, and sweat, as she works out four times a week.

Erica holds both her bachelor's degree in broadcast journalism and master's degree in public communications from American University.
