Erik Newton

Attorney Erik W. Newton is partner in the San Francisco, California firm Heath-Newton LLP ( HeathNewton.com ), where he works in the areas of premarital agreement, child custody and complex asset division.

Erik recently served on Attorney General Kamala Harris’ transition team, where he helped craft state education policy. In addition to his legal work, he serves on various advisory boards, including the board of California Common Sense and the board of The Journal of Law, Economics & Policy, a journal he founded while in law school.

He frequently volunteers his time as a mentor and advisory board member with the Spark Program, a Bay Area youth mentorship program. Erik holds a B.S. in finance from George Mason University and a J.D. from the George Mason University School of Law. He regularly speaks to diverse groups on the topics of marriage planning and asset protection. Prior to practicing law, Erik ran several successful businesses in the field of event production.
