Photo - Clay doodles #1 #2 'Do Touch'

As a child I would make sense of a concept with a diagram or drawing and I feel my art is an extension of that process taking the deeper meaning to a resolved image.

I hate the ‘don't touch’ signs around sculptures in museums and galleries.

Even if a work becomes scarred with touch, it would continually evolve and our experience would become a part of that process.

The medium however is determined by the subject and at times I go back to black and white usually charcoal, a cleansing process.

I believe the translation of my work is already stamped inside your mind as you look at it through the veil of your own experiences.

Influenced by the warm colours of the Coast of Light - Spain and Morocco North Yorkshire and its wonderful light. My larger acrylic paintings reflect that influence even when they represent deep emotional journeys.

Practicing Mindfulness meditation has given my work a new direction. In fact many new directions, as it has given me an ability to trust my instincts much more, I will respond with work that reflects that in the future.
