I study certain birth defects due to problems affecting an embryonic stem cell population known as the neural crest. These cells are critical for both heart and skin development.

My current research projects in the Marseille Medical Genetics unit involve signaling pathways downstream of receptor tyrosine kinases and how their overactivation can cause anomalies of the cardiac outflow tract (common birth defects) and rare congenital malformations affecting blood vessels and pigment cells.
