Gothic culture, science-fiction, and fandom.
I'm an interdisciplinary PhD student. My thesis explores gendered representations of embodiment, and ideas of 'deformity' and monstrosity, in the Gothic.
I write about cultural discourses of gender and embodied identity in the gothic, science-fiction, and comics. I blog independently at The Logan Institute for the study of Superhero Masculinities, and contribute material to The Gothic Imagination at Stirling University.
I have a special interest in the unexplored history of fan practices.
