Fahamu Pecou is a painter, performance artist and scholar. His artistic and scholarly works comment on contemporary and hip-hop culture while subverting it to include his ideas on fine art. Since 2005 Fahamu has been featured in several solo and group exhibitions in the U.S. and abroad, including solo exhibitions in New York, Chicago, Atlanta, San Francisco, Paris, Stockholm, and Cape Town among others. Pecou is a recipient of several awards including the 2013/2014 Working Artist Prize through the Museum of Contemporary Art Georgia. His work is featured in many several collections including; the High Museum of Art, The Nasher Museum (Duke University), Clark Atlanta University Galleries, The West Collection, Howard Tullman Collection and The Paul R. Jones Collection as well as several private collections.
