Femi Dairo is a Nigerian aquaculture health specialist, entrepreneur, and founder of Rid Veterinary Laboratories (Rid Labs), a pioneering animal diagnostic and aquatic health company focused on improving livestock and aquaculture productivity through data-driven disease diagnosis and antimicrobial stewardship.
With over a decade of experience spanning aquaculture, poultry production, animal health consultancy, diagnostics, sales strategy, and youth development, Femi has built a reputation for championing the “Diagnosis Before Treatment” approach in animal agriculture. His work is strongly centered on decelerating Antimicrobial Resistance (AMR) in aquaculture and poultry systems while helping farmers improve profitability through science, precision, and better management decisions.
Through Rid Labs and Rid Agri Limited, he leads initiatives in fish and poultry disease diagnosis, water quality management, farmer education, laboratory services, and digital animal health innovation. He is also the driving force behind Project DARA (Decelerating Antimicrobial Resistance in Agriculture), a mobile-first animal health intelligence platform designed to integrate diagnostics, farm data, and AMR surveillance for African farmers.
Femi is deeply passionate about youth empowerment, agricultural transformation, and bridging the gap between science and practical farming. He has trained and mentored thousands of young people and farmers across Nigeria in aquaculture, animal health, agribusiness, and sustainable farming systems.
His long-term vision is to build Africa’s leading integrated animal health ecosystem — combining diagnostics, research, digital technology, farmer education, and preventive healthcare to strengthen food systems and improve public health outcomes across the continent.
