Hi! Welcome to my about me page. I'm Portia, a stay at home mother of four beautiful children. Seamus who is 6, Lylian is 4, Maddalaena who is 2 and Blake who is 7 months old. Within the last year I have discovered the new craze of DIY. And I've jumped in with both feet first. Many of you know what DIY is. It's a means for people who like to experience new things, be in control of things and just are too plan cheap(or poor) to create things on their own, using their own bare hands(mostly). I have learned to make boutique hair bows, sew, woodwork, refinish furniture and paint(properly).

I am a military wife also. My husband, Richard, whom I've dubbed The Hubs, is a submariner in the US Navy. We currently reside in Kittery, ME on a new adventure. Moving around a lot has forced us to create, if you will, a home out of a residence. Which means for me that I get a blank slate and a shopping spree every 3-4 years. Yay me! So while I explore new ways of building furniture and decorating my house, I invite you to explore as well.
