Surviving Long Covid, Immune Deficiency, and Homelessness in Houston, Texas
Hi, I'm Froglet - and unfortunately, I have to do this again this month.
I know everyone is tired of seeing it by now, and I empathize completely. I'm tired of doing it. But, until there's either a treatment for long covid, or financial assistance for folks like me, I'm going to have to keep asking for help.
See, early in the pandemic, while officials were saying the virus wasn't even here yet and telling us masks wouldn't help, I got covid. But I didn't get over it in a week or two like they said I would. Weeks turned to months, symptoms changed, but I never really got better.
I've been sick for over 4 years now, and homeless most of that time. Along the way i developed immune deficiency, neurocognitive issues, reactivated & opportunistic infections, and several secondary health issues. There are no approved treaments for long covid, but I don't qualify for any form of government assistance.
I've cut every expense that isn't absolutely necessary, but medical care and essentials like food & hygiene items adds up. I've had to choose which one to do without more than once. Thats why I am here, asking for help again, month after month.
Please share my bio and links with your friends on social media. I know the economy is rough and everyone's hurting right now, and I'm very grateful if you are able to make a small donation as well.
Thank you and blessed be.
