Beginning my working life as a child actor, I was as they say "bitten by the bug" early on. Subsequently, I've worked in a range of capacities in film, television and theatre production and promotion. Having contracted my services to diverse projects, and having held staff positions at TVNZ and New Zealand Opera, I've contributed to national brand campaigns, operas, television series, shorts and feature films.

My work as a writer and director has garnered Promax, Tropfest and Writers Guild awards.

I secured my Ph.D. in Film Studies with a thesis examining the impact of digital technologies on screen production. It was a pleasure to undertake research at such notable companies as Pixar Animation Studios, Industrial Light & Magic, Blue Sky Studios, Animal Logic and Weta Digital. My M.A. thesis examined Shakespeare on screen. I undertook research at the Royal Shakespeare Company, Royal National Theatre and Renaissance Films.

I have lectured on Film History at Unitec Institute of Technology.

I served ten years on the board of the Directors and Editors Guild (DEGANZ), including two terms as VP, and I've served five years on the board of Film Auckland (FAI).
