Garad Nor

The founder and chief executive officer of Banana Pay, LLC, Garad Nor draws on more than 15 years of experience in the field of international money transfer. He originally launched his career in 1993 in Marshall, Minnesota, where he became the first Somalian to start a business. That company provided money transfers via fax to his customers' friends and families in Somalia. Later, Garad Nor expanded those services to reach clients across the globe. He also keeps on top of the latest technologies, including the more recent addition of mobile technologies.

Over the years, Garad Nor has spearheaded companies such as Tawakal Express and Tawakal Global Express. In 2018, he received a banking license for a financial institution based in Somalia known as Tawakal Global Bank.

Garad Nor maintains a dedication to high security encryption and quality customer service in each of his entrepreneurial endeavors. His efforts have garnered him prestigious recognition, such as when his company Banana Pay earned the ISO/IEC 27001:2013 certification for its compliance with information security standards.
