Garick Zikan

For more than 20 years, news professional Garick Zikan served in various capacities at WCYB-TV, an NBC affiliate in Bristol, Virginia. He started as an overnight editor and was promoted to reporter and then ultimately the anchor of the 5 and 6 o’clock evening news programs. He also served as the anchor and managing producer of the 11 p.m. newscast, which reached residents of southwest Virginia and northeast Tennessee. In 2012, Garick Zikan received the Tennessee Associated Press Award for Best Television Producing for his coverage of tornadoes in the area.

He previously anchored the weekend newscasts at KCAU-TV in Sioux City, Iowa. In this position, Mr. Zikan reported on events in Iowa, Nebraska, and South Dakota.

A member of the Phi Kappa Phi fraternity, Garick Zikan earned a bachelor of science in communications with a minor in political science at Ithaca College, where he gained experience in broadcasting by hosting and producing newscasts at the campus television station. After graduating, he pursued a semester abroad at the University of Paris-Sorbonne and received a certificate in French language.
