Gary Powell
Born in the Waialua Plantation Hospital on the island of Oahu in Hawaii and raised among the plantation communities of Wailaua and Kahuku, Gary has a unique perspective on the impact an individual can have on those around him and the larger community of society. Gary entered the business world at the age of 16 and has a varied entrepreneurial background including, among others, musician, author, landscaper, retail store operator, theater director, CEO, facilities manager, personnel trainer, loss containment specialist, counselor, teacher, personal representative and caregiver. Today Gary serves as the Executive Director of The Caregiver Foundation of America, a Hawaii based not-for-profit agency serving the practical and emotional needs of Caregivers and those needing care. Gary is frequently sought as a speaker for community groups, private organizations and non-profits groups, helping them with topics as diverse as legacy planning, advance family dispute resolution, personal motivation, personal commitment development, caregiving (over 50 topics) and death and grieving. Gary has recently published "In that land there are giants" and has 3 more titles coming out next year.
