Gaurav operates at the intersection of Fin-tech, AI, and Blockchain. He likes solving complex problems and building repeatable and scalable businesses by leveraging technology.

He is interested in human-computer interaction, biologically inspired computing, evolutionary computation, and artificial neural networks. Extremely passionate about technology with operating experience in building multiple FinTech, Internet, and Consumer Finance ventures across Asia.

He was instrumental in building core technology, consumer credit businesses, global remittance products (and everything related to building a bank ) in the first decade of his professional career with HSBC and Citi. Gaurav has built and operated several large credit balance sheets ranging from $100M to $10B.

He started his entrepreneurial journey in 2009, helping several early-stage and late-stage tech companies in product, technology, and operations. As an entrepreneur, he has been a co-founder at a range of startups. Also, he made investments in startups and public-listed tech companies during 2011-2016. Later, he started a fintech venture in 2012 and operated a listed NBFI in India. An early believer in decentralization tech and ‘sound-money,’ he started a Bitcoin micro-tipping company in 2014 (and shut it down due to poor adoption). Thereafter, he bootstrapped and built an AI/ML credit risk algorithm company for banks/FIs and sold it profitably in 2015/16.

In 2016, Gaurav spent time in China helping some of the biggest fintechs in the world with their product, growth, operations, and outside China strategy, and he continues to be a shareholder in some.

In late 2019, he founded Atlantis Tech- a fintech operating and holding company. Atlantis's portfolio includes 10+ companies in fintech and SaaS across Asia. In addition to Atlantis, Gaurav also owns, has built, and founded several blockchain projects (in payments, credit, loyalty, etc.).

At present, he is focused on building some new ventures that are aligned with his personal mission and his writings.
