Gene Berman

A retired executive with more than 35 years of experience managing real estate sales professionals and brokerage offices, Gene Berman began his career as an investment real estate agent in the Encino, California, offices of Marcus & Millichap. Gene Berman then served as vice president of investments, representing investors in the acquisition of commercial real estate assets. He received 12 consecutive sales achievement awards.
Mr. Berman joined the firm’s management team in 1996, and led the opening of its first office in Fort Lauderdale the next year. In his most recent role as group manager and executive vice president, he oversaw 30 brokerage offices and more than 600 investment real estate sales agents. He holds a bachelor of arts degree in speech communication from the University of Southern California and a law degree from Southwestern University School of Law.
In addition to his work with Marcus & Millichap, Mr. Berman served as an advisor in the graduate program in real estate at Nova Southeastern University. A past member of the Commercial Real Estate Development Association, he was named 2017 man of the year by the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society.
