Gene Gallo
City Councilman and Retired Fire Chief in Bradenton, Florida
Vote Gene Gallo, Dedicated Public Servant — for Bradenton City Council, Ward 1 in the 2016 Election
Gene Gallo has served the people of Bradenton and Manatee County for 56 years since deciding to become a fire fighter in 1960.
Gene is currently serving as the City Council representative of Ward 1 for the City of Bradenton and is the city's Vice Mayor.
He and his wife, Pat, have been Bradenton residents (and married) for over 50 years. Their two daughters are both married; Sandy to James Truan and Darenda to Doug Marvin. The Marvins have two sons, Tyler and Luke.
Gene retired from the Bradenton Fire Department where he served more than 31 years; 16 as a chief officer, eleven of which he was Fire Chief.
Gene has proudly served on the Bradenton City Council for nearly 25 years. He is currently serving his sixth, four-year term, having first run in 1991 and since been an unopposed incumbent.
Gene stated in a recent Bradenton Herald article (FEB 11, 2016) about his decision to forego retirement at this time, that "there is a lot of exciting and demanding things that need attention" in the City of Bradenton right now and he says, "I'm ready for it."
The article's final paragraph:
Gallo said it's been a privilege serving the people as a city councilman for a quarter century, "and I really mean a privilege. God works in my life and I've been praying on this decision and He has not put up a single block to say this is not what I should do."
