During a career of 20+ years in non-profit management and communications efforts, I have delivered consistently upon organizational missions. I have led and directed teams of up to twenty individuals, and have organized extensive volunteer operations. I have overseen budgets as large as $1.2M+ and effectively provided measurable ROI. My project management skills include the ability to master multiple projects under often competing deadlines.
My skills depend upon effective communications of ideas, direction, and outcomes. One of the highlights of my career includes the day-to-day oversight of a communications unit that delivered more than 500 projects per year. In addition, my work with non-profits has included managing fundraising and philanthropic efforts leading to capital campaign support as well as ongoing building projects. Recently, I led a team devoted to raising awareness of a leadership challenge yielding support for an annual giving drive. In addition, I have managed and been part of advisory committees that have furthered organizational goals through buy-in and active participation.
Tapped as an appointee of Governor Deval Patrick (as a Commissioner of Public Libraries,) I have had extensive experience with local, state and federal agencies and have leveraged the political process successfully. I have overseen the Public Library Construction as well as held the position as Chairman of the Board for two years during my current tenure. I also serve on non-profit boards and local governmental bodies.
A unique background that includes Communications Strategies, Video Production, Non-Profit Management & Law.
