Geoff Chasin
An Ivy League-educated mathematician turned trucking company president, Geoff Chasin now operates a thriving home delivery company that serves retail giants such as Ikea, Sears, and Crate & Barrel. As the owner and President of New England Retail Express for over two decades, Geoff Chasin has transformed the once small regional carrier into a nationwide provider with projected annual sales of more than $20 million. A graduate of Cornell University with a Bachelor of Arts in Math, Geoff Chasin worked in the field of engineering at Digital Equipment Corporation in Maynard, Massachusetts, before reinventing himself during the 1980s as the owner/operator of a trucking business. In that role, Geoff Chasin provided home delivery and moving services, acquiring invaluable industry experience. He eventually gained the capital to purchase New England Retail Express in 1989. From 1992 to 2009, he also applied his entrepreneurial ability and leadership skills to two ventures in the retail mattress business, serving as owner and President of Amalgamated Mattress Co., as well as Vice President and Treasurer of Consolidated Mattress. Today Geoff Chasin provides hands-on leadership and oversight of daily operations at the headquarters of New England Retail Express in Stoughton, Massachusetts. In his spare moments, Geoff Chasin finds pleasure in leisure pursuits such as watercolor painting, sailing, woodworking, calligraphy writing, and choral singing. He also draws satisfaction from giving back to his community through charitable contributions. Over the years, he has supported a wide range of worthy causes, including the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, Rosie’s Place for women in need, and Epiphany School, which provides free education to middle school children from the low-income neighborhoods of Boston.
