Gideon Powell

An oil and gas industry professional, Gideon Powell currently manages the acquisitions function for Dallas-based Cholla Petroleum, a family-owned company that focuses on drilling and exploration activities in Oklahoma and throughout the state of Texas. In this capacity, Gideon Powell spends time in Dallas and West Texas managing acquisitions, new projects, and new prospects. He also assists in developing and exploring reserves for oil and gas in areas with shallow to medium depths and helps to identify reserve areas that are both unexplored and underutilized.

Gideon Powell earned a bachelor of business administration in finance from Baylor University in Waco. As an undergraduate, he was a lacrosse player and member of the Kappa Sigma fraternity. Mr. Powell began working with Cholla Petroleum while still attending college. He officially joined his family's company in 2011.

In his spare time, he enjoys volunteering, hunting, fishing, reading, and rooting for the Dallas Cowboys.
